BMW is no stranger to awards in the auto industry, with a long and decorated past that stretches far into history. Recently, the 2017 BMW M2 added to the brand’s extensive trophy cabinet by topping the list of AUTOMOBILE Magazine’s list of yearly All Stars. Out of the entire automobile industry, the M2 is one of six nameplates that made it to AUTOMOBILE’s 2017 All Star Award lineup.
Other vehicles on the exclusive list include the Acura NSX, Chevy Bolt, Civic Hatchback, Porsche 718 Cayman, and Volvo S90, but what earned the BMW M2 a place on the list, specifically, is its all-around incredible balance and popularity. Essentially, the M2 has a little bit of everything. As a member of BMW’s reputable, performance-focused M division, the BMW M2 packs some power under the hood while also being fun to drive and maneuver, even at low speeds.
In short, the BMW M2 was a bit more affordable than even some other options on the list, especially when you consider it doesn’t need any extra, more costly add-ons in order to beat out other vehicles in the competition. The M2’s engineering is precise and smooth enough on its own to earn a spot on the 2017 All Star Award list.
